Biography
The American Flyers were founded in 2003 in Atlanta by it’s drummer, Danny, and a group of seasoned pros from multiple genres. The American Flyers are a 6-piece band and that can include a 2-3 piece horn section.
Fronting this seasoned rhythm section with a voice from God is “Karen Martin”. I met Ms. Martin four years ago when she answered an add for a vocal spot with the Flyers.
Karen had never sang in a band like the Flyers so I had her over for an audition and she killed it. That’s when I knew we had our new front singer.” Says Danny Garrett.
Multi-instrumentalist Dave Scott on Keys, Sax, Guitar and vocals is literally a one-man band. Dave is from Missouri now making Atlanta home. Dave is an excellent all-round musician and a great music director. Dave performs his one man show regularly and leads a gospel choir.
“Shannon Gilbert” Bass, Guitar, Keys and vocals, has had two music scholarships. Shannon, from the great state of Arkansas has performed all over the country with tribute acts. A great musician the flyers are lucky to have.
“John Eades”, Guitarist extraordinaire, brings a signature lick to the Rhythm Section. John is a music merchant as well as a performer. “John has vast original experience and we have worked together for years in the music education curriculum”, says Danny.
The Bands proprietor, Danny Garrett, is the timekeeper, owner, educator of drumming arts, original founder of the America Flyers. “I have experienced every influence from British invasion pop-radio, arena rock to what we have today. I was 12 years old when I joined my first band. Growing up as a late baby boomer I got my fill of the best music in any era. We love what we do and making your party the event to remember is our goal. With the Flyers there is something for everyone.” Danny
The band hits the stage with non-stop energy, bringing the party to the crowd the dancing never stops.
The band's show is a Hit Story from 3 generations from the 60’s to today. Rock hits, R&B, Motown, Jazz hits, Classic hits you may not hear everywhere is what makes the American Flyers unique. “We knew we wanted something unique from the biggest hits of last three generations”, says Danny.
The American Flyers have performed hundreds of weddings, National Fairs, Large Concert events. Corporate events, Mardi Gras, NFL stars, MLB stars, the clientele is huge so, be our guest when we’re in your area and consider us for next live music event. We want to make your party the event to remember. We want to take you higher!
