Meet The Band

Get ready for a musical journey from Doo Wop to Motown, from Beach Music to Memphis Soul.

Whether you need entertainment for your Town Square or a Black-Tie event, class reunion or wedding, the GOS Band provides stellar showmanship and a whole lot of “happy”.

With more than half a century of combined playing experience, the band is comprised of seven of the finest musicians in the country. These are true artists, players who have performed with artists like Marvin Gaye, The Platters, Jerry Butler, The Marvelettes, Jackie Wilson, and Patti Labelle to name a few.

Effortlessly blending Beach, Soul, and Motown music, the GOS create a fresh and energetic sound that will have you feeling the warm sand between your toes again. Just like magic, you’ll be transported to another place and time as you listen to their soaring, soulful vocals, tasteful and timeless keys, subtle and sassy guitars and of course, the smokin’ hot horns!

With deep roots in Soul, Motown and Beach music, The Grains of Sand Band takes you on a musical journey when they perform classic hits from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Put together Scotty, Donny and Phil in the horn section with Greg V. on bass, Jody on guitar, Dean on drums and Greg S. on the keys, throw in some strong vocals with smooth harmonies and a jigger of stellar showmanship – shake – and you have an instant party.

Folks, the Grains of Sand put on one of the BEST show’s I have seen in a long, long time. I have seen many bands perform over the span of some 40+ years, I rank the Grains of Sand up there with the best I have ever seen.

Georgia Peach Festival

What a great way to begin our concert season! The Grains of Sand Band played the music we grew up with and provided opportunities for singing along and dancin’ the night away. Their mix of Beach, Soul and Motown kept our crowd energized and talking about the band long after their last song. The GOSB is highly professional and were easy to work with from the initial contact to the actual concert night. I highly recommend them if you want good music from the 50’s and 60’s. Good instrumentation and vocals. If you hire them, you’ll be pleased.

Thanks for the great job the band did at our July Florence After Five in downtown Florence. You are truly a professional sounding and acting group of musicians and it was a pleasure to have you at our event. We look forward to having Grains of Sand for a return performance at a future event.
