Classical Latin Jazz Guitarist-Thayer

Thayer was born and raised in Hanover, New Hampshire. The youngest of three sons, he gravitated towards music at an early age. Picking up the guitar at age seven, it was not long before he was enrolled into weekly guitar lessons, which lasted for the next decade.

Enrolling in Berklee College of Music in 2009, Thayer became a performance major. At Berklee he honed his craft and versatility in Jazz, Rock, and most of all Fingerstyle guitar. Graduating in 2013 in the top five percent of his class, Thayer then relocated to New York City where he worked in the music scene and thrived for years as an in-demand player. Collaborating with many world class musicians who toured with Frank Sinatra, Buddy Rich, Dean Martin, and others, Thayer offered his talents as a guitarist in a variety of genres and ensembles.

Thayer has also released four solo albums that are in the style of Merle Travis and Chet Atkins. After the pandemic, Thayer was awarded a full scholarship to Georgia State University to pursue a masters in Classical Guitar Performance, under the guidance of Dr. Luther Enloe. “Through my studies with Dr. Enloe, I have achieved what I set out to achieve; instituting Classical technique and repertoire to my solo instrumental guitar repertoire.” Upon graduation from Georgia State University, Thayer is now working in Atlanta starting his collaboration with Blue Sky Entertainment.

From elegant and traditional Classical pieces and blazing Romantic era Spanish works, to Chet Atkins and Travis Picking arrangements of jazz standards, to soothing Brazilian, Argentinian, and Paraguayan arrangements.
