Biography
The Harvest String Duo consists of Teri Abler on violin and JP Hester on guitar, this duo performs throughout the Southeast performing selections from Bob Dylan to Beethoven. Combining their classical training with their love for modern music, the duo puts a unique perspective on almost any song or style.
Their unique ability to play across various genres and adapt to and interact with each audience makes them a highly sought after staple for weddings, country clubs, restaurants, or conventions. Whether your event calls for tuxedos or t-shirts, the Harvest String Duo’s music elevates any event’s ambience.
Many clients rave about the duo’s ability to play almost any request on the fly. Crying toddler at your wedding reception? No problem! They’ll bust out the ‘Paw Patrol’ theme and turn that frown upside down! Bride wants Madonna and Mother-in-Law wants Mozart? Easy! How about a classically-inspired take on ‘Material Girl’?
Teri is a classically-trained violinist/violist and has performed with regional symphonies throughout the Midwest and Southeast. In addition to teaching at The Gwinnett School of Music, she also maintains a virtual studio through the states and abroad. JP studied classical guitar in his younger years before focusing more on songwriting and improvisational rock and roll.
He has done session work for other artists as well as recording original material. A chance meeting between the two planted the idea, and the melding of their styles has created something familiar, yet truly unique.
The Harvest String Duo’s versatility allows them to craft each set to specific audiences and evolve with the atmosphere as the night progresses. Oftentimes they find themselves beginning the shows with elegant instrumentals and finishing the night with rousing sing-alongs involving the whole crowd.
Both Teri and JP find their biggest reward in the faces of satisfied clients. They relish the opportunity to create a unique set for your special event. They feel the journey of learning new music and seeing their styles coalesce is the closest thing to magic they’ve found yet, and look forward to sharing that journey with you.

So glad we took your recommendation and booked these talented and musicians. All our guests were asking who they were and where we got them from!
