Enrique Mercado, born in New York City, is a versatile musician with a focus on trombone playing and vocals. His journey in music includes studying music performance at the University of Minnesota before making Atlanta, Georgia, his home in 1982. Throughout his career, Enrique has been the originator, bandleader, and musical director of several orchestras. He has led Orquesta Lyrica in Atlanta since 1986, showcasing his long-standing dedication to the music scene.

In addition to his role with Orquesta Lyrica, Enrique serves as the musical director and leader of the Atlanta Show Band. This group supports international salsa vocalists from Latin America during their tours in the Southeast region of the US. Enrique's leadership and musical direction contribute to the success and vibrancy of these musical ensembles.

Dr. José Manuel Garcia, a Steinway Artist, is recognized for his excellence in jazz piano, composition, arranging, and orchestration. His proficiency extends to the classical repertoire, making him a versatile and accomplished musician. Prior to joining the Gwinnett Symphony Jazz Orchestra, Dr. Garcia held the position of Assistant Professor of Piano and Theory at Miles College in Birmingham, Alabama.

As a jazz pianist, Dr. Garcia has shared the stage with internationally acclaimed artists, adding a wealth of experience to his musical journey. His collaborations include performances with notable figures such as Danny Harper, Michael Philipp Mossman, Ray Vega, Bill Summers, Kemba Cofield, Jennifer Holliday, and many others.

Dr. Garcia's dedication to music education is evident in his fifteen years of work, including seven years of teaching at accredited institutions. His latest solo piano project, "Cruz del Ávila," released in December 2010, showcases his sensitivity and brilliance on the piano, with praise from the renowned Ahmad Jamal. Overall, Enrique Mercado and Dr. José Manuel Garcia contribute significantly to the musical landscape, bringing their talent and expertise to audiences in Atlanta and beyond.
