Celebrity Weddings in Atlanta

Blue Sky Blog

Atlanta is full of celebrities, and our beautiful city has hosted several over-the-top celebrity weddings. Known for their high price tags and flamboyant dresses, these trend-setting weddings set the bar for everyone else. In no particular order, here are some of the famous brides and grooms who tied the knot in tlanta.

Usher and Tameka Foster :

Singer Usher married his longtime girlfriend Tameka Foster just outside of Atlanta. The bride wore a Vera Wang gown while Usher was dressed to the nines in a Giorgio Armani tux. Best of all, the ceremony took place at the French-style Chateau Elan Winery and Resort located in Braselton. Diann Valentine planned the reception in the resort's massive ballroom while the night was topped off by a five-tier white chocolate wedding cake from Perfect Endings.

Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas :

Fernbank Museum may not be the first place many potential brides consider when looking for an Atlanta wedding venue, but it was the top choice for reality star Cynthia Bailey of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' fame. Cynthia wore a stunning platinum gown made by Rubin Singer that fit with the silver theme running throughout the wedding. Even the four-tiered cake came with gray icing to match Cynthia's dress. Guests attended the reception dinner amongst tables set up between Fernbank's trademark dinosaur skeletons.

Kim Zolciak and Kroy Bierman:

If anyone could outdo Cynthia Bailey, it was fellow cast-mate Kim Zolciak. This was a true million dollar wedding and the couple didn't even have to spring for a reception venue since the ceremony was held at their mansion in Roswell. Instead, a large part of the budget came from Kim's three wedding dresses: a $58,000 pre-owned Baracci gown, a $18,000 Pnina Tournai gown and a $16,000 Pnina Tournai jumpsuit covered in Swarovski crystals.

Justin Gaston and Melissa Ordway:

Actor Justin Gaston married his girlfriend Melissa Ordway at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in downtown Atlanta. Justin is perhaps best known as Miley Cyrus' ex-boyfriend, but his new bride is no slouch herself, being a regular on Teen Nick's "Hollywood Heights". The reception took place at the refined Mandarin Oriental Hotel, a premier Buckhead wedding destination.

Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopez and Andre Rison:

Andre Rison was famous as a member of the Atlanta Falcons football team while Left Eye was a member of the female rap group TLC. This couple was already semi-famous before their impending marriage due to Left Eye burning down Rison's mansion after a nasty argument. They would have married at the spectacular Atlanta Botanical Gardens, but neither the bride nor groom ever showed. It is an example of one almost-famous Atlanta wedding that wasn't.

Zac Hanson and Kate Tucker:

Anyone who lived through the 1990's remembers the song "Mmm Bop" by the group Hanson. The youngest of the three brothers, Zac Hanson, married his girlfriend Kate Tucker at the Second Ponce De Leon Baptist Church in Atlanta. Both the bride and groom were stunning, and it was a Hanson reunion since Zac's brothers Taylor and Isaac were the best men. Topping off the event entertainment was the music provided by the Thomas A. Dorsey Birthplace Choir.
