Atlanta couples are at a distinct advantage. Our city is home to some of the most illustrious and glamorous wedding venues in the country. Whether you're planning laidback, rustic nuptials or an ultra-glam, high-style affair, there's no shortage of places to consider.
Yet, we know that even with such an impressive array of options, this step can get a little overwhelming. Today, we're here to help simplify the process. Below, we're sharing the top five wedding venues Atlanta has to offer, and how we can help make your big day even more special.
The Wimbish House
Have you always dreamed of getting married in a historic mansion? If so, then look no further than The Wimbish House. Situated in a prominent Midtown location, this towering venue is impressive and easy to find.
Designed by famed Atlanta architect W. T. Downing and currently owned by the Atlanta Women's Club, the French Renaissance Revival structure is spectacular in every sense of the word. A Day-Of Coordinator can take care of every detail, so you can focus on preparing for your special day. The venue itself is large enough to accommodate 150 guests for a combined ceremony and reception, or 250 guests for a reception only.
One of our favorite parts? There's no bad spot to take a picture at The Wimbish House. From the steep gables and ornate stone to the manicured grounds and breathtaking interiors, this venue makes photography a cinch.
Piedmont Driving Club
Piedmont Driving Club is a private social club originally established in 1887 as the Gentlemen's Driving Club. Located on Piedmont Avenue, it's an exclusive and gorgeous facility that would make an ideal backdrop for any wedding.
There's a sense of history as soon as you step onto the grounds. The event space at the main clubhouse is grand, with rows of high interior arches, polished hardwood floors, and fine linens on every table.
If you're looking for an upscale spot to host your wedding, then add this one to your list. Members of the club can also indulge in the many activities and amenities offered on-site, including golf, tennis, squash, swimming, and more. You can even book a massage to help melt away some of those pre-wedding jitters!
When you're ready to unwind, there's also an 18-hole golf course and par-3 course, both designed by architect Rees Jones in 2000, located just a few miles away. This would be a great place to treat special guests before or after you exchange vows.
Callanwolde Fine Arts Center
Do you consider yourself to be artsy? Do art education and philanthropy matter to you? If these causes are near to your heart, then consider holding your wedding at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center.
This sprawing 12-acre estate is located in the heart of metro Atlanta. It features 27,000 square feet of indoor gathering space, as well as beautiful gardens, terraces, and fountains to explore. If details like 12-foot ceilings, walnut paneling, and an oversized grand staircase sound stunning to you, then you need to check out this space in person.
The mission of this Center is to preserve and develop the Callanwolde Estate, and to serve as a primary hub for everything arts-related in town. When your honeymoon is over, check the calendar of events and come back to visit! In the meantime, you can book a tour of the historic site to learn more about it and discuss plans for your upcoming nuptials.
Atlanta Botanical Gardens
Have you always dreamed of an outdoor wedding? Our temperate climate is ideal for such an event, and nowhere is it more fitting than the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
Routinely voted as one of the best venues in Atlanta by various publications, the gardens offer plenty of places to host your special day. The most popular spot is the Rose Garden, surrounded by larger-than-life blooms. With the capacity to hold 200 guests, it's the perfect place to say "I do".
You can also rent the on-site Day Hall if you prefer an indoor reception. The largest private event space on the grounds, it can hold 250 seated guests or 500 standing guests. This ballroom boasts high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a flexible layout that can be turned into a stage, lounge, or dance floor!
If you're considering live entertainment for your wedding, then the Day Hall is an incredible backdrop. Smaller, more intimate crowds may prefer nearby Mershon Hall or the Robinson Gazebo.
The Sylvan Hotel
The Sylvan Hotel is a local favorite, and for good reason. Discreetly tucked away in the city's Buckhead area, this modern venue can accommodate a reception of up to 125 seated guests.
Looking for a great place to host your rehearsal dinner? The hotel's garden bar is lush, green, and gorgeously decorated for a smaller party. The rooftop bar is also a great place to enjoy a few pre-wedding cocktails, with dazzling skyline views behind you.
Then, when it's time to celebrate, everyone can move into the grand ballroom, which features tall ceilings, elegant furnishings, and plenty of room to spread out. If you need help planning any detail of your wedding, members of the Sylvan Hotel staff are there to help.
In fact, you can even enjoy virtual planning services, along with a variety of custom-designed wedding packages and promotions, taking the stress out of every part of the process.
