Are you planning to tie the knot at The Georgian Terrace Hotel? This modern, upscale venue is the ideal place to say "I do" and start the rest of your lives together.

As you start the planning process, it helps to know the right steps to take. Today, we're sharing an in-depth guide to hosting the perfect wedding here, from the decor to the entertainment, and everything in between.

1. Research Event Spaces at The Georgian Terrace Hotel

The Georgian Terrace Hotel first opened in 1911. In the 110 years since then, it has been home to some of the area's most illustrious and glamorous events.

When you plan a wedding here, you'll have your choice of one of three sweeping ballrooms, as well as a state-of-the-art boardroom, a grand restaurant and bar, and a swanky, intimate cocktail area. Each offers a heavy dose of classic charm, as well as plenty of seating and opulent furnishings.

Not sure which space is right for your big day? Let's take a closer look at the features of each room.

The Grand Ballroom

The Grand Ballroom seats up to 220 guests. Swathed in warm, gorgeous neutrals and special touches including dazzling crystal chandeliers, it's a beautiful spot to exchange vows and host a vibrant reception.

This ballroom is big enough to accommodate your entire guest list, and also includes plenty of space for live entertainment. If you're eyeing a party band like 12 South Band for your wedding, you'll need the extra room.

Piedmont Ballroom

A little smaller than the Grand Ballroom, the Piedmont Ballroom seats up to 200 guests.

With eye-catching architectural details and exquisite artwork, it's another beautiful spot to host a reception. There's still plenty of room for a party band, though you might prefer a smaller group, such as the Joe Gransden Jazz Quartet.

Mitchell Ballroom

The Georgian Terrace Hotel's most intimate ballroom, the Mitchell Ballroom seats up to 120 guests. An excellent source of soothing natural light, it's the perfect spot for a smaller wedding. It can also serve as a spectacular backdrop for a live guitarist or vocalist, like artist Jim Tiernan

2. Plan Cocktail and Dinner Areas

The Georgian Terrace Hotel offers private and semi-private dining spaces within its stunning Livingston Restaurant & Bar. Plan to host your cocktail hour or reception in the large, wrap-around dining room that opens beautifully to the main floor below.

This layout creates a celebratory atmosphere, made even better by the incredible views! The iconic Fox Theater on Peachtree Street is visible from this area, and you can also get a front-row seat to the adjacent bar and lounge.

Here, you can enjoy private dining in a calm and laidback space that your guests will cherish. Guests can easily mingle in the foyer before entering the area, making it perfect for pre-meal drinks and hors d'oeuvres.

For a meal that's a little more intimate and swanky, you can also host your meal at Proof and Provision, the hotel's underground cocktail space. Here, you'll find two areas that are perfect for groups up to 50. If your party is a little bigger, they can spread out in the vestibule and adjoining seating areas.

3. Consider Your Catering Options

This hotel offers an extensive catering menu that includes:

  • Breakfast and brunch
  • Breaks/snacks
  • Lunch
  • Hors d'oeuvres
  • Carving stations
  • Dinner
  • Bar beverages

You can take a look at the vast array of selections online. Use your budget to help guide your meal choices, as well as the type of vibe you want to set at your wedding.

For smaller weddings, a few hors d'oeuvres and a lunch buffet might be just what you need. Other, larger-scale galas might include plated dinners, carving stations, and even a breakfast buffet or brunch the next morning! Consider what your guests would enjoy but don't forget to add a few of your favorites, too!

4. Book Artists and Musicians for Any Venue

As we've mentioned, certain event spaces within The Georgian Terrace Hotel wedding venue are better-suited to specific types of entertainment than others. A big party band, for instance, would be right at home in the Grand Ballroom, as would a DJ like the crowd-pleasing DJ Rob!

Considering a smaller reception with a star harpist at center stage? An artist like Harpist Debra would be ideal in the Mitchell Ballroom, or entertaining guests at Proof and Provision.
