Blue Sky Blog
The year 2018 is soon to enter its last phase and it’s the celebration time for people all over the world as the festive season is going to be unveiled soon with the Oktoberfest next month.        The Origin: The royal event originated in Germany with the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig, who later became King Ludwig, I, to Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen in Bavaria on 12th October 1810. Thousands of people celebrated the grand event in front of the city gate Sendlinger Tor in Munich on October 17 and since then it became a great tourist attraction. At present, Munich Oktoberfests are held in September due to its milder weather condition. It begins on a Saturday in September and continues for the next 16 days, ending on the first Sunday in October. Today, Oktoberfest is known for being the world's largest beer festival and funfair where large quantities of beer are consumed every day as an age-old custom. Oktoberfest Music: Though the festival has so many other reasons to cheer for, people often go crazy for the music and the traditional German Oompah bands performing live during Oktoberfest that makes a huge part of Oktoberfest vibe other than the beer. It’s quite exciting to find out which song makes it to the top of the Oktoberfest chart of the year. Both the modern upbeat songs and classic hit numbers are played to which the guests shake their legs or sing along and spend some great time together. But if you are from the United States, Oompah music will sound just like Polka due to the German influence in American Polka. Some of the top live bands in Atlanta have been entertaining the audiences around the United States for decades during Oktoberfest. This year too, Atlanta is going to host its Oktoberfest from October 12th to October 14th that will feature authentic German polka music along with variety of local acts. Wearing their traditional attire and singing in German; the bands will make you move to the polka beat, feeling happy in your heart!
